Over the years, he became an expert in Greek Corporate Law and continued practicing other areas of law gaining extensive experience in multiple kinds of cases, as well as dispute resolution procedures. At the same time, he has served as an independent legal expert of the EU Commission for years, on the resolving and regulation of new legal issues arising by the changing Information and Telecommunications technologies.
Panagiotis Perakis has been a member of various law drafting committees and other official working groups on special legal issues (stock market regulation, E-commerce, European projects financing, tourist industry, Sports law, Data Protection etc). He has also been a member of Independent Authorities and supervisory bodies.
He has represented private clients or professional groups in international organisations and has acted in complex business negociations.
From 2011 until 2020 was elected as member of the Executive Board of the Athens Bar.
After being Head of the Greek Delegation to the Council of Bars and Law Societies of Europe (CCBE) for 4 years and Chairman of the Access to Justice Committee of CCBE for a 3 year period, in November 2019 was elected as vice- President of the CCBE and in November of 2022 President of CCBE for the year 2023.
